TRAVEL

Loyola University Chicago is easily accessed by Chicago Public Transportation. The Red Line train stop titled “Loyola” sits just across the street from campus, while the #151 Bus will let you off in front of Loyola at the “Loyola/Red Line” stop.

For drivers, click here for information regarding parking at Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus.

For those traveling by plane, the Blue Line train runs from O’Hare to downtown where you can transfer to the Red Line at the “Jackson” stop. If you are coming from Midway, the Orange Line train runs from the airport to downtown where you can transfer to the Red Line also at “Jackson.” If needed, please email Giancarlo Tarantino (gtarantino@luc.edu) so he can help with arranging any rides to/from the airports.

For those arriving at Union Station, here are directions to the closest train stop (“Clinton” Blue Line) from which you can transfer to the Red Line.

LODGING

Currently we have 5-6 spots available for individuals who could be housed by Loyola graduate students – although that number may increase. For information on staying with a Loyola graduate student, or lodging questions in general, please email Thomas Bretz at tbretz@luc.edu.

Regarding hotel booking, one of the most effective spots is the Super 8 at 7300 N. Sheridan Road (info here). Room reservations are a bit cheaper than some of the other possibilities listed below, and the hotel itself is only a 1/2 mile from Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus.

Alternatively, information about booking a room through Loyola Lodging is available here. Although the lodging is at the downtown campus, there are shuttles available to take individuals north to the lake shore campus  (about a 15-30min. ride depending on traffic), and the Red Line “Chicago” train stop is one block from the Loyola lodging, and can take you to the “Loyola” stop within 20min.

Another possibility is the is the Hilton Garden Evanston (information here).
